Top Ugandan celebrities have spearheaded a campaign to fundraise for Davido UG, whose real name is Ibrahim Muwonge, a renowned Kampala Bar Host and Events Videographer, who is bedridden due to high blood pressure and kidney disease.
Davido UG isn’t a stranger to many in the Kampala social spheres due to his striking resemblance to Nigerian singer Davido and his lively aura and friendly nature, which make any event feel memorable.

Davido is currently in the ICU suffering from high sugar levels, high blood pressure, kidney problems, intense bacterial infection, a swollen leg that is at risk of being amputated, and too much acid in his body.
He has had HBP and diabetes for like 3 years, but the situation worsened two weeks back.
We first took him to Kiruddu, but we were referred to Nsambya, then Medipal. Due to the high costs at Medipal, we are looking at transferring him to Mulago Hospital.
He is still in the ICU and in an unconscious state. He is unable to talk currently.
We need over Ugx50M because the more time he spends in the ICU, a lot of money is being spent. The dialysis process is also a long-term process and very costly.
Celebrities have been receptive to the cause because he is friends with most of them. Sheilah Gashumba, Tashi Hubby, and all the rich Munyonyo boys are doing whatever they can. Others like Lydia Jazmine have also shared awareness on their social media pages.
Any kind of support from kind souls is much appreciated because, as guided by the doctors, his condition is very critical, so he may stay in the ICU for some time. Thank you to everyone who has so far come through.
