Singer Kvan has opened up about how her former friend Recho Rey pushed her off one of their biggest music projects and released it behind her back. Kvan, during a TV interview, explained why she lost trust in fellow musicians, citing her broken friendship with Recho Rey. She revealed that they had planned to do the ‘Guma Bakunyige’ remix together until a close aide advised them to tag in Mun G to have the song get a wider audience. With her connections, Kvan managed to get Mun G into the studio, and as she was about to record her part, she was sent to run an errand. Surprisingly, upon her return, the studio session had gone on without her, therefore pushing her off the song. “I was meant to be part of that project just before I realized I had already been sidelined and taken out of the picture. I was supposed to voice, but someone sent me out for something, and when I came back, the producer was suddenly busy. They told me to wait, and before I knew it, there was already a video,” she said. Sharing their friendship journey, Kvan revealed that Recho approached her as a big fan of her music because she loved her song ‘Back Off‘. They became close, and since she had been in the music industry longer, she had many connections and went ahead to introduce Recho Rey to most of them. From then on, Kvan says she went with Recho Rey to all her performances and let her perform before her, and their strong bond made people around them think that they were siblings. I went with her everywhere and took her to studios that I knew; I never performed anywhere without her. I always made sure she performed first before me. To her surprise, however, after she had started getting public attention, Recho Rey denied her during one of her radio interviews. “They said she said she didn’t take me as her sibling. I chose not to listen to that interview because I didn’t want to break down. I had sacrificed a lot and my manager Apple began managing her. They left me.
