Home Team Score Away Team Kooki 1–1 Ssingo Gomba 2–1 Ssese Buluuli 0–1 Busujju Kyaggwe 1–0 Busiro Butambala 1–1 Kabula Kyaddondo 1–1 Buddu Buvuma 1–0 Buweekula Mawogola 1–1 Bugerere Bulemeezi 0–1 Mawokota Buweekula, who lifted last year’s Masaza Cup title, were beaten 1-0 away by Buvuma on Saturday, extending their winless start to the new campaign. The result leaves the defending champions under early pressure after drawing their opening match against Kyaddondo. Sunday’s action saw nine counties battle for valuable points in matches that produced five draws and four victories. Gomba secured a hard-fought 2-1 home victory over Ssese to bounce back after their opening-day stalemate with Busiro. The five-time Masaza Cup champions showed resilience to collect all three points and keep pace in the Masengere Group standings. Kyaggwe maintained their impressive start to the tournament with a narrow 1-0 win over Busiro. Having already defeated Mawokota on Matchday One, Kyaggwe now have two consecutive victories, making them one of the early pace-setters in the competition. Elsewhere, Busujju edged Buluuli 1-0 away from home to continue their positive campaign, while Mawokota recovered from their opening defeat by claiming a 1-0 victory over Bulemeezi. Several fixtures ended level, underlining the competitiveness of this year’s tournament. Kooki and Ssingo shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, as did Butambala and Kabula. Kyaddondo and Buddu also settled for a 1-1 draw in one of the weekend’s tightly contested encounters, while Mawogola and Bugerere could not be separated after another 1-1 stalemate. The Buganda Masaza Cup, organised annually by the Buganda Kingdom, remains one of Uganda’s biggest grassroots football competitions, bringing together the kingdom’s 18 traditional counties. The tournament has become a major platform for identifying young football talent while promoting cultural unity across Buganda. Gomba remain the competition’s most successful county with five titles, while Buweekula entered the 2026 edition as defending champions. With only two rounds completed, the race for qualification to the knockout stage remains wide open as counties prepare for Matchday Three next weekend.
